SML with the Lifeguard POD – Episode 3

Hey Kids!

Watch episode 3 here –

Hope you enjoy watching!

Here are some activities you can do this week to remind you that it is always good to praise God.

Daily Prayer

Heavenly Father, give us the courage to do the right thing even when it isn’t easy. We know that our hope is in Jesus alone. We put our trust in him, and in his name we pray. Amen

Fiery Furnace S’Mores

1 graham cracker square
Approximately 10 chocolate chips
8 small marshmallows
4 Teddy Grahams (leave one off when cooking)
On top of graham cracker square, put the chocolate chips, marshmallows, and 3 Teddy Grahams.  Toast in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes, or until marshmallows are browned.  The Teddy Grahams should not burn……making them just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the Fiery Furnace story.
One more person was in the fiery furnace and it looked like an “angel” or a “son of God”.  When the s’more is done, remove the snack to a plate and place the 4th Teddy Graham on top.  This is the 4th person from the story (sent by God) and the one who saved the men from being burned.

Fiery Furnace Experience

Tape strands of orange, red, and yellow crepe paper to two small room fans. Tip the fans up toward the ceiling and turn them on so that you have a fiery furnace. Re-enact the story, taking turns playing the three brothers, the angel and the king. Make sure that someone always plays Nebuchadnezzar and says, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out!”

If you don’t have fans, you can tape crepe paper streamers to jumbo craft sticks. Wave the streamers up and down to look like flames.
