Make a Heart Garland

Use colored construction or scrapbooking paper — one sheet of four colors is more than enough for a standard banner. This is also a perfect project for using up paper scraps. Cut paper into one-inch strips length wise (cut size 1″x11″).

Write names of people you love, or those you are struggling to love on the strips of paper so you remember to love those and pray for them.

Fold paper strip in half and crease (folded size 1″x5.5″). Bend the loose ends of your folded strip towards the middle and pull down (forming a heart shape) and staple into place. Using a single hole punch, cut through the middle and each side of the heart. Thread finished hearts onto string to create your garland.

Paper Heart Craft

Instructions:

  • Cut out a large heart in your favorite color.
  • Choosing another color, cut out 4 strips, and fold into an accordion. These will be the legs and arms of your heart.
  • Glue or stick on smaller hearts to the end of each accordion strip. These will be your hearts hands and legs.
  • Glue the arms and legs on the heart.
  • Glue on the googly eyes and draw a smiley mouth using a crayon or marker.
  • Allow the heart to dry completely so that the arms and legs do not fall off.
