Advent Studies

It’s hard to believe, but the season of Advent is almost upon us.  Although most of this year has felt like a season of waiting and preparation, maybe that means an Advent study is just what we need.  We have two very exciting opportunities coming up!

Incarnation: Recovering the Significance of Christmas by Adam Hamilton: Led by Pastor Shawn, this 4-week study seeks to discover the meanings behind the names of Christ.  His parents gave him the name Jesus, but others called him Lord, Messiah, Savior, Emmanuel, Light of the World, and Word Made Flesh.  As we explore the gospels, we can reclaim the Christ Child who brings us together, heals our hearts, and calls us to bring light into the darkness.  Incarnation will meet on Wednesdays at 10am via Zoom and 11am in person in the CLC beginning November 18th.  To sign up or to learn more, email pastor@stpaulscb.org or call 910-512-2547.  The link to the Zoom meeting can be found at https://nccumc.zoom.us/j/96473582298?pwd=WmNVMUptTHJ1VkhtOFBRV04xa2RaQT09

A Different Kind Of Christmas: LIving and Giving Like Jesus by Mike Slaughter

Led by Gayle Tabor, this 5 week study is a practical and inspirational study for the Advent season. Based on Mike Slaughter’s popular book Christmas Is Not Your Birthday, this study will empower your family and your church to reclaim the broader missional meaning of Jesus’ birth and experience a Christmas season with more peace and joy than any toy or gadget could ever bring.

The Tacklebox Class will resume meeting on Sunday November 22 8:30am – 9:15am via zoom https://nccumc.zoom.us/s/95469007978?pwd=VFVoTUh5VWtkanM0QzcyYktxakN4dz09
