In Deuteronomy 30, as the Hebrews prepare to enter the Promised Land, Moses tells them, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him.”
As God’s people, that is a choice that is always before us: life or death, blessings or curses. However, we may not always know what it means to “choose life.” What does this life look like? Over the next 3 Sundays, we will explore some different aspects of the life that God gives to us.
- Life = Happiness: The first Sunday, we will explore what true happiness is, and how it is part of what God intends for us.
- Life = Breath: As we celebrate Pentecost, we remember that the biblical words for “Spirit” and “Breath” are the same, and that the very breath of life comes from God.
- Life = Family: In the final part of this series, we’ll see that our purpose in life is found in our identity as God’s children.
So, plan to be in worship with us, bring a friend or family member, and discover anew what it means to “Choose life!”
