Founded by local ministers and residents of Pleasure Island in 1985, the center was established to help meet growing needs of citizens in the community. The name “H.E.L.P Center” stands for “help establish love for all people.”
Since its creation, the Federal Point Help Center has grown leaps and bounds.
Once interviewing clients in their homes and making direct food deliveries, and later tucked in space at the Carolina Beach Recreation Center, The Federal Point Help Center is now excited to have a their own building on 3rd Street to call home.
The center has helped residents in need of food, clothing, help with utility bills, rent and anything else it can afford. This center is a way to help residents of Pleasure Island who may not qualify for other assistance programs stay put in the community.
