Newbies

One of the more scary things we do in life is show up where we don’t know know what to expect! Whether this is your first time testing out the whole ‘church thing’ or you’ve never missed a Sunday; whether you are on vacation or you’re looking to your next church home; we want you to be comfortable when you walk through our doors! So, here are a few things to know:

What to wear:

We say it often because we mean it…we don’t care! We live at the beach, work at the beach and worship at the beach. Our Sunday attire includes shorts, flip-flops and probably a few fishing shirts. There may be a few dresses or suits scattered about. We are more concerned about your relationship with God than your relationship with clothing.

Will I have to introduce myself:

Nope! We are not going to call attention to you. We do take time to greet each other and sometimes this means people walk around. Don’t feel you must – we won’t mind a bit.

How will I know when to stand or sit:

When you arrive the usher will give you a bulletin. This will have the information for the order of service.

What time does the service start?

The early (casual) service starts at 8:30 and the traditional service starts at 11:00. Casual and traditional refers to the type of service and not the type of dress. The dress is pretty casual at both. We also offer Christian Education between the two services 9:45-10:45.

What door should I enter?

The main doors to the sanctuary are located under the steeple. These doors bring you into the back of the main worship area. The door to the left of the main doors bring you into the main hallway, which leads to the stairwell (to upstairs classrooms and nursery), kitchen, offices, and fellowship hall. By the way, there is usually coffee in the kitchen….help yourself (and if you’re lucky there could be a Britt’s Donut).

Am I welcome at this Church?

Yes! We believe Jesus called us to ‘love our neighbor as ourselves” and that means you! We don’t care if you’re red, yellow, black, white or rainbow striped. We won’t care about your income, your race, or your status. If you want to worship with us, you are welcome.
